This is one of my favorite steak places around. Always cooked to order, staff is fun, and the atmosphere is 100% Columbus MS

Well worth the 1.5 hour drive from B’ham. This is my fourth trip for the best steak in the south.

Love this place. I have been coming to this place since I was a kid. Their steaks never disappoint and their staff is very friendly.

I must say Old Hickory is hands down the absolute best! No matter how many times I have dinner there they never cease to amaze me with how delicious and perfectly prepared the steak is. Love the simplicity of the menu. The employees always welcome you with a friendly smile and polite attitude. Its always a great experience that keeps me coming back.

Steak was great! They only serve steak though so if your not a carnivore this isn't the place for you.

Steak was cooked well done and I ordered medium rare. Also ordered a large rib eye and brought me a small one For the first mistake.

Old fashion steak house comfort and friendly service. The charcoal grilled steaks are awesome! An absolute must for any steak lover! Highly recommended!

This is a steakhouse version of a dive bar. It's definitely got it's character but the grunge force is strong (and I mean really strong) with this one. The steaks were not bad, but also not stellar - and that might be an issue for some people since the prices aren't cheap.

Nothing fancy about this place. I had a rib eye it was thin, but was cooked properly (med rare) and had a good flavor. The salad is iceberg and you get a baked potato. Your only choices are what you drink and your dressing (they offer 3). For the price it was ok.

Always good. I had the big ribeye. Potato and salad also come with all steaks. Come hungry, and come ready for steak!

I've had steaks from some of the best steakhouses in the country!! But this ribeye that I had tonight topped all of them!! No exaggeration!! And the hospitality was very nice!!

Was the best steak ever eaten 40 years ago. Now have moved back to the area am going to make up for lost time. Love the food and the atmosphere.

I don’t leave reviews often, however this steakhouse is absolutely FANTASTIC. All the steaks are cooked over charcoal. I ordered the filet rare; it was cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth tender! Great baked potatoes and extremely tasty Texas toast garlic bread! One of the best steaks I have ever had!

Absolutely the best steak in Columbus , I have been staying here for 2 weeks and finally tried it and I will definitely be back! Old school cooking right there on the grill and the steak was perfect!

The place is freezing cold and has no windows. It's like they repurposed a nuclear bunker to be a steak house. I would say whether or not the steaks are good but the staff was so rude to my family we left that damp dark cold goblin cave

Its a bit of a time warp but the food is always good!

Friendly and accommodating staff, all they have is steak, so that's what they do well. Food was served promptly it could have been cooked more evenly but it still was good either way. As you walk in you will see the steaks cooked on a charcoal grill behind the cash counter. Check it out if you're looking for something a little different.

Absolutely the best steak I have ever eaten. They do one thing "steaks" and they do it better than anyplace else ive been. If you love steak definitely try this place.

Ate here for the first time ... super good ,tender , flavorful, cooked perfectly T-bone and ribeye steaks ... charcoal grilled right before your eyes . Super friendly people running the place ! Fast service ! Super affordable prices ! Huge baked potatoes served with steaks ! Definitely the place to get a great steak ! Better than Harveys in my opinion ! Tell them the shirt fat man from Newton Ms sent you !

If everyone you're eating dinner with is committed to having steak, then this is your place! That's all they have on the menu - sirloin, t-bone, ny strip, filet, and one other, I think, along with a baked potato with sour cream/butter, small salad, and texas toast. All are excellent. Everyone I've eaten there with has been happy with their meal.

We drove from Buhl, Al to this restaurant (about 45 minutes) because we did not want to go into Tuscaloosa after the Bama game. We were not disappointed! Small, quiet place with a down home feel. We will be going back.

Awesome steak!!!! Love this place. It’s an old building filled with the smell of steak and smoke. I don’t mind it at all because it’s a part of the experience. Simple menu. I always order small ribeye. All the steaks come with iceberg salad and a loaded baked potato. Always enjoy the food and time with friends here. You may have to wait if you go at a peak time.

I remember my first visit in 2003 when we moved here, waiting in line to get a table and The smell alone made your mouth water with anticipation. To this date I have never had a better steak ever any where. I have never had to send my steak back it has been perfect from day one. I look forward to every visit and cant wait to get there. Best meal and well worth the money. You all Rock at Old Hickory I love you all.

Old country style steak house. They cook in the front on a big grill in plain view. Choices are steak or no steak, sour cream on the potato, and a drink. Simple.

Cool place that specializes in steaks cooked over a charcoal grill. Not much seasoning to the meat so if you enjoy the taste of the meat you'll love it! The only seasoning they use is sprinkling it with soy sauce as it cooks.

For a home cooked experience, there is nothing like this place. The menu is short and sweet. Salad, meat, and potatoes. Expect your steak to be prime cut, big, and right off the grill. I will be back, and surely will reccomend this place.

I've been to a great many steak houses in my day and I can honestly say this place is the Greatest Little Steak House in Mississippi. If you love steak, and who doesn't, then this is the place for you. This place may be low on frills, but on thrills it is top notch. My favorite is the filet mignon, but all of their cuts from rib eye to T-bone are sure to please. So, the next time you're in Columbus be sure to stop in. Go early because the parking is limited, but the food is definitely worth any wait.

Fantastic steak. Really I mean a very impressive steak cooked perfectly Everytime. If they are busy sometimes they take 30+ mins to get you food, but by God that steak is worth it.

I was seated quickly, others not so lucky. Friendly staff, but overwhelmed. Steak was great, not so much anything else.

Amazing steak. One of the best I have ever had. "Do one thing and do it well" should be their moto, because they do (that one thing is steak).
